Happy holidays
December 31, 2008 – 10:56 amI’ve been a little sparse posting here because of the holidays, but two things happened on Christmas Eve that you’ve undoubtedly seen in the news. First, there’s the news that Bayer filed a lawsuit in Texas against Abbott, claiming that the company’s arthritis drug Humira infringed Bayer’s patent for human antitumor necrosis factor alpha antibodies. In another Christmas Eve lawsuit, Eli Lilly and Co. is suing Valeant Pharmaceuticals, accusing the company for failing to share the cost of product liability claims arising from the Parkinson’s disease drug Permax.
Not a great end of the year for Abbott and Valeant, to be sure!
